In celebration of 24 Frames per Second, the ambitious exhibition of 24 newly commissioned moving-image installations presented at Sydney’s Carriageworks, ACMI presents a suite of four artist films exploring dance as a fundamentally collaborative medium where connections are made across form, practice and territories.

A major exhibition of 24 commissioned screen-based works by 18 Australian and six international artists. Developed over three years, 24 Frames Per Second presents the most dynamic and innovative contemporary multi-arts practice that sits at the nexus of dance, film and visual arts.

Redlands will be presenting the Prize in conjunction with the National Art School. Our curator this year is the respected contemporary artist Lindy Lee. Lindy is a previous winner of the Prize and curated the show in 2010. She has selected a diverse and exciting group of contemporary artists to exhibit in the 2012 Prize.

Rising Tide: Film & Video works from the MCA Collection

This exhibition represents the second in a two-part exchange of collections between the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California. This significant collaboration was inaugurated in 2008 with the major exhibition Southern Exposure, which featured works by west coast American artists from the collection of MCA San Diego.
