The Royal Women's Hospital Contemporary Aboriginal Art Commission: Bindi Cole In association with Centre for Contemporary Photography

In 2008, CCP and the Royal Women's Hospital (the Women's) formed a partnership to commission Bindi Cole to create two large photographs for the foyer of the Women's. Bindi Cole is a Melbourne-based photographer and artist of Wathaurung and Australian descent. She has previously exhibited at CCP, as well as nationally and internationally, and has won several awards.

Whitewash is a new video installation projection & soundscape work by Bindi Cole that is being projected and played on the Water Wall at the NGV International over nighttimes during Reconciliation week 2010. Whitewash explores Aboriginal stereotypes and the effect of government legislation such as the White Australia policy on urban Aboriginal communities.
