Lisa Roberts is an an artist-researcher whose practice is based on drawing and human movement. Her formal studies include dance, visual arts, animation, Indigenous perspectives and Antarctic perceptions.

Her PhD research (2007-2010) led to the development of a lexicon of primal gestural forms. These forms are used in animation and other media to expand perceptions of forces described by human gestures and scientific data.

Gesture and line drawing now feature in her practice to communicate accurate climate change information. She is currently drawing, animating and writing with scientists at the Australian Antarctic Division and co-authoring papers with them for publication in art and science journals (in print and on-line).

Lisa’s art work is presented at international art and science conferences, exhibitions and on-line (See Bio on artist’s website). Her animations are published under a Creative Commons Share Alike license and can be viewed at Antarctic and (Dunn Lab, Brown University, US).
