GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM BILBAO

Amie Siegel Winter

Working variously across film, video, performance, photography, and sound, Amie Siegel (Chicago, 1974) exposes and connects multiple strata of meaning in her meticulously crafted installations. While narratives operate as sites, artifacts and documents emerge as material tokens of memory, desire, and fact, and film is often confronted with the circumstances and protocols of its own making.

The Talent Show First Floor Main Galleries

The Talent Show examines a range of relationships among artists, audiences, and participants that model the competing desires for notoriety and privacy marking our present moment. Many of the works in the exhibition animate the tensions between exhibitionism and voyeurism, and raise challenging ethical questions around issues of authorship, power and control.
