Chua’s research interests are in the fear of the unknown and her process involves the appropriation and reinvention of Southeast Asian horror narratives. These new stories are then realised as a website, installation, drawing, or most recently photography.

She has been selected to participate in the Singapore Biennale 2011 and the BMW Young Artist Series at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute (2010). Recent solo exhibitions include Raised as a Pack of Wolves presented by the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival (2009) and Full Moon and Foxes an installation commissioned by the National Museum of Singapore as part of the Singapore Art Show (2009).
