Hermione Merry image

Hermione Merry is an emerging screen-based installation artist and filmmaker.

Hermione’s practice is informed by a desire to fuse the emotional landscape of film with the physical tactility of spatial work. She seeks out open endings, the incomprehensible, (mis)communication, the unnameable and the mysterious.

Hermione collaborates with intermedial artist/performer, Henriette Kassay-Schuster. As well as in Australia, they have exhibited recently in Berlin through a dual artist residency with Takt Kunstprojektraum and Pistorius 142. They have upcoming exhibitions at Seventh Gallery and are featured as part of the 2012 Innovators program at Linden Centre for Contemporary Art.

Also, Hermione is one half of creative collaborative MerryVerso with fellow filmmaker Nicholas Verso. MerryVerso recently received a Cultural Grant from Yarra Ranges for February 2011 public art installation Nocturne.Alone as well as a City of Melbourne Signal Artists Grant for July 2011 installation of Nocturne.Forgotten.
