CHARLY WRENCHER

Wrencher has participated in numerous exhibitions spanning a 20 year career. After completing his studies at the National Art School, he spent 1994 travelling extensively around Australia. This experience profoundly influenced his passion for painting the landscape. My oil paintings explore space, colour, texture and gesture to express the feelings I get as a response from the subject, his desire is to; immerse the viewer providing them with an intuitive experience of what they see. Wrencher’s work can be most closely aligned with contemporary artist, William Robinson who has always drawn on elements from his immediate surroundings for his subject matter. Like Robinson, Wrencher depicts his own backyard, painting from his studio an old dairy bale with views to the Nightcap Ranges.
