My site-sensitive practice focuses on materiality, spatiality and archetypical narratives, by developing a personal aesthetic language that responds to the transience of existence and fragility of life. I bring this wide scope of interest to a particular site, or selection of materials that reference a site. Then I derive points of orientation ranging from board philosophical questions, to local urban myths or recorded history, and my own immediate visceral and emotional experiences. Working with found materials and natural elements, I create pieces that span installation, sculpture, drawing and photographic/video documentation. These works often magnify a fragment, as representative of a larger situation that is inherently difficult for us to control and that impacts and shapes our lives.
