SEVENTH GALLERY

The new forest

In her work The new forest, Lauren Simmonds explores sound and movement through cut paper, transforming the surfaces of the gallery into a three dimensional moving soundscape. Referencing our natural environment, like a memory of trees, sweeping fields or breathing lungs this work aims to quietly conjure the realization of our possible futures.

SOUND & VISION Sarah Duyshart | Emma Lashmar | Ross Manning

Sound & Vision explores the symbiotic relationship between sound and vision through immersive sculptural installations. Three artists create work, which can be felt as an evocation of the intangible, and operate on a frequency and vibration similar to music.

KINGS ARTIST RUN

Point of Departure | Lauren Simmonds

In this work geometric drawings come to life as large-scale, tangible sculptures. The shapes invite the viewer to move through the forms, immersing in an experience both solid and shifting.

BLINDSIDE

Transfigure | Lauren Simmonds

In this new body of work Lauren Simmonds explores the tension between the static nature of figurative sculpture and the dynamism of movement and performance. Juxtaposing static, intricate forms such as hand-cut paper, with the dynamic gesture and movement of human body, Simmonds creates kinetic installations that are part performance, part anthropological study and part handmade craft.
