EXPERIMENTA

Experimenta Social #6: Australiana, The Mongrel & Amnesia

For the last Experimenta Social in this series we invite Philip Brophy and Eugenia Lim to reflect on Australian identity, place and belonging. Using pop cultural forms as a lens to view Australian society, both Eugenia and Phil uncover latent meanings and interpretations through their video works, writing and installation.

Philip Brophy performing 'Kissed'

Composed and performed by Philip Brophy, Kissed is a live score accompanying Andy Warhol's silent film series Kiss (1964). Performed in quadraphonic sound and based around a series of Brophy's recorded and processed acoustic drum recordings, Kissed creates a pulsating rhythmic dialogue with the film's kissing couples.
