Natalie Ryan, born in 1981, is an Australian Artist based in Melbourne working primarily with sculpture, installation and drawing. Her work explores themes that surround the aesthetic representation of the animal cadaver throughout history and it’s inclusion in the contemporary gallery space. Drawing from existing methodologies used for preserving the cadaver and introducing a contemporary aesthetic, Ryan is interested in the historical exchange between science and art, preservation and display.
The Artist would like to acknowledge the support of Linden’s Artists Studio Program.
Natalie is represented by Dianne Tanzer Gallery, Melbourne.
