Kate Tucker, Unstory

My recent painting process has encompassed multiple materials, methods and styles, which are sampled and transferred between works. Paintings are made in multiples, with each work referencing others in the series. In some cases fabrics are dyed, stained and painted before being sewn or layered together, stretched, and painted over.

Collaboration

These eight works on paper were made via a process of equal collaboration between Kate Tucker and Tai Snaith. In a new, abstracted take on the classic parlour game of the Exquisite Corpse (practiced by many of the early surrealists), these two artists spent time taking it in turns to either start or finish each work.
