Graeme Foote has been a sculptor since the 1970’s when he started an apprenticeship as a stonemason then transferred his career to Jeweller & Silversmith, which he pursued for 15 years. In 1984 he commenced a business called ‘Gargoyles & Dragons’ with his wife, Angela, where he was a successful Architectural Sculptor working in terra cotta, stoneware and bronze helping replacing Melbourne’s heritage. In 1998 he established another section of the business called Surrey Sculpture Studio where he was Principal Sculptor leading a team of 5 artists sculpting one off pieces and commission work. In 2009 Graeme decided he wanted to focus on his own art work in ceramic sculpture and set up Hawthorn Studio in a solo capacity.

Over the years he has made commission pieces for clients’ private collections in Australia, USA, UK, Japan, Canada, China and France.
