Simone Eisler is a Brisbane based artist with an extensive exhibition profile having exhibited her works internationally in the Philippines, Indonesia, New York, Belgium, Paris, Berlin and within Australia.

Her art practice explores the complex relationship between nature and the human body through a diverse range of media. Having completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Sculpture at Queensland College of Art, Eisler has broadened her practice to include performative photography, video, sound and installation.

Eisler’s practice has extended to include public art commissions from a variety of private, local and state government clients across Australia. These works respond to site-specific interior and natural environments such as Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Sandgate Foreshore Parklands, Rocks Riverside Park and Federation Park, Toowoomba.

In 2011 Eisler completed a major international public art commission as part of Urban Meridian – Curatorial Projects on Art and Health for the House of World Cultures, Berlin and was presented with a Highly Commended Award for her work ‘New Skin (Detail 2 – Accoutrement)’ in the 2011 Churchie National Emerging Art Prize. She also featured in Contemporary Australian Sculpture at Redland Art Gallery. In 2012 Eisler exhibited in India in ‘Re-picturing the Feminine – A Survey of Indian and Australian Contemporary Female Artists’ in association with the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Her work was recently showcased in Mythopoetic: Women artists from Australia and India at Griffith University Art Gallery and she is currently working on a major public artwork for Gladstone East Shores Redevelopment.
