Sovereignty

The sovereignty of First Nations peoples is embodied culturally, historically and politically, and has never been ceded. The exhibition Sovereignty focuses upon contemporary art of First Nations peoples of South East Australia, and keynote historical works, to explore culturally and linguistically diverse narratives of self-determination, identity, sovereignty and resistance.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Under Construction presents sculptural-based and site-specific installations within several rooms of Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. Featuring Aliça Bryson-Haynes & Lizzy Sampson, Dominic Kavanagh, Claire McArdle, Louise Paramor and Steaphan Paton, these commissioned works reveal the creative process as a series of physical and time-based responses to the architecture of the gallery.

Primavera 2015: Young Australian Artists

Primavera is an annual exhibition of young Australian artists aged 35 years and under. It was initiated in 1992 by Dr Edward Jackson AM, Mrs Cynthia Jackson AM and their family in memory of their daughter and sister Belinda, a talented jeweller who died at the age of 29. Primavera 2015 will be the 24th edition and will be curated by the MCA’s Indigenous Curatorial Fellow.
