Paul Batt is a male artist born in Australia, currently working in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Paul Batt is a graduate of both the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) photography departments with both a Bachelor and Honours degree, respectively.

Paul is currently completing his PhD in Fine Art (photography) at Monash University after a productive research semester spent at the Fachhochschule Darmstadt (Germany) in 2007.

Paul’s work has been exhibited widely, including solo shows at
The Center for Contemporary Photography (CCP), Kings Artist Run Initiative, Trocadero Arts Space and Shifted in Melbourne.

Selected group exhibitions, featuring the artist’s work include the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), the Australian Center For Photography (ACP) and TCB/Uplands to name a few.

In edition to exhibiting Paul has also received several awards and grants including winning the CCP ‘Summer Salon’ in 2003.

Paul has been a selected finalist in a number of national photography awards including The Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert Photography Award, at the Gold Coast City Art Gallery, The William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize at Monash Gallery of Art (MGA) and CCP Documentary Photography Award at Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne.
