Dear Carollee,
Love Cindy,
Love Hannah
For me, it is the most iconic and resonating image of feminist performance. In Dear Carolee, Love Cindy, Love Hannah I pay homage to this work; appropriating, distorting and perpetuating its discourse. The scroll I read is not from my tongue, it is the iconic 80’s pop song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun I play from the umbilical cord I pull from within, and I cover myself not with the mud of the earth, but in the seduction and consummation of its glistening produce, spill and wear its rainbow embryos. I am the techno body future; unreal, impossible and built of simulacral reference.
