Performance commission from CHANNELS: The Australian Video Art Festival, 20 September 2013, Australian Centre of the Moving Image (ACMI) Internet searches of Carolee Schneeman’s interior scroll burn vibrantly in my imagination.

Dear Carollee,
Love Cindy,
Love Hannah

For me, it is the most iconic and resonating image of feminist performance. In Dear Carolee, Love Cindy, Love Hannah I pay homage to this work; appropriating, distorting and perpetuating its discourse. The scroll I read is not from my tongue, it is the iconic 80’s pop song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun I play from the umbilical cord I pull from within, and I cover myself not with the mud of the earth, but in the seduction and consummation of its glistening produce, spill and wear its rainbow embryos. I am the techno body future; unreal, impossible and built of simulacral reference.
