Milking image

Year: 2008

Adorned with light pink undies and a see-through raincoat, I poured milk over my head out the front of a theatre and it’s crowd waiting to see ‘Mary Poppins’. A few people squealed and one professed ‘eeww, gross’ – perhaps in reaction to the public display of milk?

The inhabited city landscape situates the displaced nature of the action, a real visceral experience out the front of a theatre: a place where so many experiences and feelings are feigned. Honest unguarded responses and interactions seem discouraged in a society of so many entrenched behavioural codes.
