In Flowing Locks an out of place performer is framed in front of the red rust of the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art. Delicately she airs her hair extensions, accentuating her underarm and pubic hair. The flesh coloured body suit smoothes over and airbrushes the woman’s body, everywhere except the places usually covered.

These ‘protected’ places of sensitivity, intimate and famously embarrassing zones, which exposed, perhaps allow vulnerability to be celebrated.
